Coming Soon to a Land of Noodles Near You

Alright, first month into the new decade and we’re already coming up with some awesome new stuff to keep you all busy. We’ve just added user blogs to the Noodlescape Forum so members can start blogging! Our sister site, OfSpades is growing at an rapid pace and all seems to be doing well. But “well” isn’t good enough for us. When things are well we make them awesome. Here’s what’s coming up for you all: a universal point system. How does it work?

  • You’ll be able to move your forum noodles to the universal point system (we haven’t come up with a currency name yet, might still be noodles)
  • You’ll be able to obtain points from other areas of Noodlescape and sister sites (say blogging on the Mainland or Wiki-ing at OfSpades)
  • You’ll (finally) be able to trade in points for awesome stuff (ex. $10 iTunes gift cards, Ultimate Game Cards, etc.)
  • You’ll be able spend and view your points on a dedicated website (probably noodlescape.com/points)
  • You’ll be able to show off your points to everyone else
  • You’ll be able to earn “badges”
  • You’ll (finally) be able to transfer points to other members

More information on the last bullet:

  • Badges are obtained for meeting certain requirements. (ex. 500 forum posts, participating in a LAN party, getting a post on the Mainland, donating to Noodlescape, etc.)
  • Badges appear on your profile in the point system
  • Most badges are accompanied by points that are automatically deposited into your account
  • Some badges will be just for show. (ex. sort of like that item (was it a ribbon?) in Pokemon that costs 999,999 and serves no purpose at all but to prove you’re rich, or gold roses in Animal Crossing)
