in Bulletin Board

Hello and welcome to the new Video Gamers HQ, feel free to ask and comment on the post. We’re welcoming evaluations on video games, talking and questions on video games, etc. Please comment occasionally; I could get bored :P
As the first “Bulletin Board” of this Blog, I will put a few games on the PC that you MIGHT fancy (I’m emphasizing the “might” because you might hate the game. I just found these websites or games to don’t blame me if it’s dorky or something).

Online Games:

Utopia – A free online game that involves fighting as a kingdom. Every day you are provided with several amounts of cash, food and runes, and you can build up your colony like it’s real! Explore for more land, steal from enemies with sneaky thieves, or cast magic spells on people you don’t like and blow them up. However, I think that Utopia would be MUCH better if visual. It is a text-based online game.

*: Actually, Swirve has quite a bit of games you might like. Check out the site by just deleting the UTOPIA part.

Adventure Quest – It’s an okay game, but if you don’t play as a Guardian, it get boring REAL fast. You’ll like do quests over and over again, collect money, buy swords, then do the quests again. The events are very common, however, so be sure to check it out if you haven’t already. It has graphics; it’s not text based.

Pokemon Crater Battle Arena – This game is highly recommended ONLY for Pokemon lovers, otherwise, you’ll hate it. It might make you ENJOY Pokemon, but I believe most people like it or hate it (after all, it is at least a 10 year old game). Same concept, you pick your starter Pokemon, your sprite, and you go and find Pokemon. Fight gyms, battle trainers online, etc. Lots of weird thing to it too, though. Attacks that don’t hit in the real Pokemon hit, new Scared status(?), lots of starter Pokemon, stuff like that.

Dragon Fable – The name sounds better, but it’s pratically the same thing as Adventure Quest. Same thing, except the Attack menu looks different and you can move your character with a click of your mouse. What more to expect? After all, it IS made by the same creators as Adventure Quest. Try one of the two; they’re not very different.

AddictingGames – This is a pretty good site, matching up with BrainBashers (brainbashers.com) and FreeOnlineGames (freeonlinegames.com). Filled with new games as well as your old ones, you could never play them all (unless you play each one only once, for a 24 hour period every day X_X)

Ragnarok Online – Pretty big Korean game, with LOTS of different servers and such. The main one is the one I’m going to post. It looks sorta like manga sprites, skills like Sonic Blow, classes like the Alchemist and the Bard. The only Con is the download. It’s really LONG. A day, perhaps? For slow computers, two thumbs down (unless you get the downloaded download from your friend or something). I believe this download is in English; if you prefer Korean I’ll help you find one.

RuneScape – Some people say it rocks, some people say it’s retarded. The “retarded” side is made up mostly of non-members (which get only 10% of the privileges of a member). It, sadly to say, it pretty much true. You play, you love it, then you hate it, then you love it, in an endless cycle. The part of the hate it turning back to love it, however, only starts when you basically have nothing else to do. Members get common updates, new quests, and such. They probably NEVER get bored. Suggesting you to try RuneScape, it might fit your fancy.

Kingdom Of Loathing – This is a text-based game based purely on humor (that’s just my opinion). You’re like a sticky figure guy, and you do these things and stuff. Yeah. I really can’t explain this one out much, but you might like it. I used too :P This has like Actions remaining thing, where you have these points (I think it’s like 140 or something) and when you run out of them, you can’t play until the end of the day (when they refresh your Action Points). Booze and food is helpful to gain Action Points.

Urban Dead: This is like a survival text-based game. You choose your class (yes, you can choose a zombie, not that you’ll not turn into one eventually) and fight against zombies for your city. Just kill the zombies and run away. Bad thing about this game is your Action Points (how many turns you can attack, move, etc.) is low, unlike Kingdom Of Loathing.

Non-online games (might need Internet to get it though):

Age of Empires III: This real-time strategy is really fun! All you need is some money – just
$40! So cheap! Just kidding. You can buy the expansions for it, like War Chiefs or Asian Dynasties (Asian Dynasties is coming soon).
Play The Age of Empires III Demo:
www.microsoft.com/games/pc/age3.aspx
Play The Age of Empires III War Chiefs expansion download:

FlightGear: Free flight simulator, the best free one you’ll get. Fly with your keyboard, choose your plane (UFOs :P ) and fly! Lag and glitch is half the fun xD

N Ninja – Your a stick figure ninja, trying to pass levels for no reason. Well, maybe because you have only a 89 second lifetime and you need gold to regenerate it. The basic thing is, you jump on walls, dodge enemies, get the switch, and head toward the door. Simple, hmm? Oh yeah, and you can create your own levels by pressing the button with the ~ and the ` on it. Play other peoples levels at user levels. I believe you can get more by clicking at the link on the top left screen.

some of them are kind of outdated. For example, I don’t think Pokemon Crater is even a game anymore. The website got destroyed or something
